Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water Collaborates With Pump Aid to Curb Water Shortages across the Globe

Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water is a company that extracts water originating from Mauna Loa volcano. The water is obtained from rain and melted snow. The water is alkaline in chemical composition and comprises of electrolyte elements. Since it was founded in 2012, Waiakea water has thrived due to its exceptional volcanic water brand.


According to Noob Prenuer, Ryan Emmons founded Waiakea water with an objective of utilizing natural volcanic water to foster sustainability. As a Hawaiian resident, Emmons discovered that quality water lies beneath Mauna Loa volcano. He also adopted a mechanism to extract the water from the Hawaii Big Island-based volcano.

The water is rich in calcium, sodium, and magnesium that are beneficial for the human body, especially in the formation of healthy bones and teeth. Waiakea spring and volcanic water is purified and tendered using 30 mg of silica.

According to Global News Wire, Waiakea water company usually adopts sustainable water bottling methods. The company uses renewable energy in its water bottling processes. The company also packages the water in environmental friendly bottles. The firm’s mission is to provide healthy bottled water. It also addresses social issues like water shortages and environmental conservation.

Partnership with Pump Aid

In an effort to support communities that are affected by drought and water shortages, Waiakea water teamed up with Pump Aid. The partnership seeks to supply 650 million liters of clean water to African rural communities. Pump Aid is a charity organization focused on supporting disadvantaged communities to access necessities such as water.

The partnership has enabled over one million people to access safe and clean water as well as sanitation. The two institutions have also installed over 3500 Elephant Pumps. These pumps were donated by Pump Aid and are based on an ancient Chinese design.

Elephant Pumps in Malawi

Waiakea Water sponsored the installation of six Elephant Pumps in rural areas of Malawi. The project was implemented in partnership with Pump Aid. Access to clean and safe water is a major challenge in rural parts of Malawi.

Therefore, with the installation of the Elephant Pumps, water shortage has become a fairy tale. Additionally, the living standard of Malawian people living in rural areas has improved tremendously. They have reduced the rate at which people suffer from waterborne diseases.

The project has created employments for the locals. The pumps have significantly reduced rates of school dropout since students can now access clean water and can learn in a healthy environment.
